Good morning to you all on this New Years Eve.
We have literally just woken up to a snowfall in New York. There is something magical about this city – especially in the winter.
So what have we been up to – I hear all you jealous people ask?
Well we arrived in Manhattan after increased security checks on the flight – luckily only around an hour late. However it was to BA’s credit quite a good flight – very comfortable. Danny and I watched the Hangover while little sleepy just… well slept!
Arrival to -6 degrees was a shock after our exploits in Africa! Megan was dancing when she thought there might be snow.
So we have been to Central Park, Times Square, Macys, 5th Ave and The Brooklyn Bridge (My Favourite).
We have also been to the World Trade Centre site, where they have actually started to build what looks like the Freedom Tower... still pretty haunting down there though. With the memorial now fully planned I think it will be well worth another visit when it is finished.
We visited China town yesterday for lunch of which Dan had fried frog – mmm interesting! Been out in Greenwich and Union Square for drinks that was good fun, although little Tidey and I woke up with hangovers the next day, while Iron Stomach Danny has not yet – leave that until tonight.
Our room mate a lightly crazy Brazilian/Mexican is good value for money, and we suspect either a CIA operative working to keep the Brits out of America, or a fugitive on the run for crimes against her former country – whatever that country maybe… I think her name is Lilly, Paula or Consuela - we are not too sure as of yet.
Looking forward to tonight and our News Years eve tickets, hope all is well.
p.s. Happy New Year
