So it was up for sunrise after a suprisingly comfortable sleep in the car - Megan had the backseat while dave slept in the front. The sunrise didn't change the avergae beach. Sorry if it sounds like we are complaining but this east coast has been really disappointing. We drove all the way across the north coast - not seeing anything of note in any of the countless towns we passed through - including Devonport, Burnie, Laurenston etc...
So we decided to head down to Cradle Mountain - another so called highlight of Tasmania. Thank god we did! Cradle Mountain is by far the best thing to do in Tasmania. The National Park is stunning, absolute wilderness with the walks all done on broadwalks which negates the fact a lot of the ground is very wet! The highlight was the trip up to Dove Lake that sits at the edge of the mountain itself. The views are outstanding, the lake is gorgeous - if not a little cold and well the pictures speak for themselves!
We also got to see a wild wombat, a whole family of Echidnas,Parrots and even a few birds of pray. Honestly this is by far the highlight of Tasmania and we were so happy we got here and got to see the beauty of Tasmania.
