Hi, Katy and Rob!

Just a quick message to wish you both Happy Christmas from the Barrett ranch in the Shire. As I haven't got my act together for Christmas yet in this country, let alone abroad, I don't have a hope of getting an actual Christmas card out to you before Easter, so please take this as a festive card!!! I have sent you a Facebook card as well, though.

I can't say I envy you the weather you're having. Sounds pretty chilly to me -16 degrees. Wow. We've had a bit of snow here today and the temperature's dropped a bit, but not so much as where you are, I'm pleased to say.

School breaks up tomorrow so all the kids are really hyper at the moment. Usual non-uniform day and an early finish, so might get home in time to write a few more cards and wrap the odd present.

We're off to London on Saturday to fetch Caroline home for the holiday. I really hope the weather doesn't get worse; I don't fancy the drive in the snow.

Anyway, it's quite late and, after a bit of midnight shopping at Tesco, I still have to wrap presents for work colleagues for tomorrow, so I'm going to buzz off now.

Oh, just quickly, before I do, we're having a Chinese week at school next term. When I have more time, I'll email you on Facebook about it, as I'd like to see if we can involve you two in some way. Let me know what you think, or if you have any bright ideas about how we could do that.

Meantime, lots of love to you both. Keep warm! We'll be thinking of you over the Christmas holidays and missing you, too.

We are both still keeping an eye on you even though we haven't 'messaged' for a while. Thank goodness for the messiah that is Ronald McDonald - he gets many a weary traveller out of a tight spot!

Hey you two, been watching your blog but only just built up the courage to add to it, bit new to this scary technology. Everything looks fab fab fab, and such a great experience. Soak it up its a wonderful time in your life and we are so proud of you. Hope your happy every day and that everything is going good for you two. Katy, I really missed you at my birthday, and you've completely missed some ace boyfriend-related gossip but I’ll send a proper e-mail with that on. Summarised, it wasn't the same without you! Glad you were with us in spirit though. So is the teaching fun then? Got many blank looks yet? (That’s what my teaching usually involves!)

Hi. Glad to hear you like your placement. The building looks great and the campus you both teach on looks really modern. When are your first classes. Rob - don't worry about your first lesson. The first time I stood in front of a class I got through a week's worth of lessons in just one lesson!!! Don't think I paused for breath! It won't be long before you wonder what made it so hard in the first place. Can't believe that even though the lanaguage is different, you can still tell the supermarket is Asda. Take care. xxxxxxx
