Im now in the Perhentian islands which are like paradise. They havent been destoyed yet by big hotels and not many people know about them so they are really undeveloped and beautiful! Only problem for mw is no mcdonalds, kfc etc lol! They are not great with their western food but im making do with burgers, french fried as they call them and mars bars! When we arrived on the island about 6pm we decided to find somethwere to stay. This was not as easy as we thought. We checked every hotel on Coral Bay and Long beach and everywhere was FULL!! We sat down for food ans started to plan our night sleeping on the beach! Luckily someone told us about this hidden place with a few rooms. We went and managed to get one room which Sarah and Ged had and then me and Emma stayed in a dorm room with randoms. We got ready and had our first shower in about 2 days!!! Yuck!! There was a guy in our dorm called Everd from Belgium who was here alone so we asked him to join us for drinks! He seemed really nice and funny and when we left to go bed he came back then too. Back at our dorm were another couple of english too. I fell straight to sleep after our mad jouney but Emma had trouble sleeping.
In the morning Emma told me to hurry up and get the hell out of this dorm!! I was surprised and wondered why she was acting wierd??? When we got to Sarahs room she told me Everd had woken her up in the night by shinning a torch in her face and singing to her!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! so funny for me but scraed the s*** out of Emma. So we were determined to find a nice place to stay.
We went to the nicest hotel on the island and demanded a room. They said to come back later to see if anyone had checkes out but we wernt risking another night in that dorm so we sat in reception and waited! and waited! and waited!! The women behind the desk realised there was no getting rid of us so finally arranged a room. It was 350 ringits a night, about 70 pound for all four of us. The dorm room was only 20 ringits a night each but Emma was not going back there!!!
When we got to our new room we went crazy! You would think none of us had ever stayed somewhere nice. We scared the cleaners with our screams and hugs or happiness! The room is gorgeous! Air con, hot water, massive double beds, TV, huge balcony overlooking our own private beach (called romance beach)
That night we went to long beach for dinner and drinks. The islands are not good for alcohol a lot of places wont sell it so we buy a bottle of vodka and then mixers and make our own drinks. We went onto the sand where everyone chills with candles and flame throwing people!! We got quite drunk because it took an hour and a half for our food!! One thing annoying about these islands is they take forever to give you food. You will wait at least one hour if not two hours for your food. So bring entertainment. Ours was the form of cards, we played cards and got drunk!!! At the bar me and emma were looking for hot guys (obviously) and saw a man but said, no i think he is german. Then he bought a drink and he was obviously english and I think he heard me! oops! So when I went to the beach i told Sarah and Ged the story and about how he looked like Paul Nichols!! Then i suddenly spotted him laughing. Everyone who knows me knows I talk just a little bit LOUD!! i blame it on being deaf!!! But the guy heard every word!!!! OOOPS! And he was on his own I felt well bad so invited him to join us! He did and spent the rest of the night with us. He was definately english not german as he told me!! haha! we arranged to meet him the next morning at 10am for snorkelling and went to bed.
This morning we woke up after a good nights sleep. The realised how good a sleep it was because it was 2pm. The poor guy James had probably waited for us to snorkel and we never turned up!!! We dragged ourselves to the beach for lunchand then decided to go snorkelling.
Oh dear snorkelling was a bad idea. We went out and saw fish, coral, sea cucumbers etc. But when we decided to come back to shore we realised why it is called CORAL BAY! It was everywhere and really shallow because the tide had gone out. We were stranded in the middle of the sea. A guy came past in a boat so we asked for his help. He only laughed and carried on in his boat! The malaysians are definately not as nice as the Thai!!! Int he ed all we could do was walk on the coral which was spiky and cut our feet and hands and knees!!! We finally got back to shore and realised loads of people had been watching us. The guy we hired the snorkel off of was laughing. Thanksmate!!!! Not a successful snorkelling trip. So i went to sunbathe to relaz and calm down after our ordeal!!! It is now the evening and after writing this were going out for dinner! Hope your enjoying the blogs.
